Born in Ecuador, Cecilia has dedicated her entire life to education.  She graduated in 1978 from Emerson College at Forest Row in the United Kingdom, where she trained to become a Waldorf teacher.  Cecilia co-founded the first Steiner kindergarten and Waldorf primary school in Quito, Ecuador and implemented Waldorf methods in over 30 years of teaching experience at various academic institutions in Ecuador, the United Kingdom, the United States and Hong Kong.

She also created Easy and Fun Spanish (Español Fácil y Divertido, EFD), a series of teaching resources for language learners of all ages and levels.

She has been a Spanish instructor in Hong Kong for over 20 years and a DELE examiner; she makes use of her experience and materials to facilitate her students’ development in learning the language, in addition to supporting their preparation for Spanish qualification examinations including DELE, IGCSE and SAT.

Cecilia is the author and illustrator of The Beautiful Golden Butterfly (La bella mariposa dorada, 2013), a children’s storybook with a spiritual message, and Spanish for Playgroup 1 (Español 1 para edad temprana, 2013), a Spanish language learning book featuring nursery rhymes for preschool children. Her third book, The Letter Is… (La letra es…), features 33 original illustrations and aims to help beginners of all ages become familiar with the sounds of the Spanish alphabet.
